Mushrooms, Seaweed and Seabuckthorn

In autumn our shores are brimming with wild edibles. This coastal autumn forage will focus on foraging the delicious superfood Seabuckthorn, and on its many culinary applications. Of course, we’ll also look at other edibles on land and in the water, particularly mushrooms and seaweeds.

We will discuss edible and toxic species, identification features, preparation and preservation techniques, and foraging ethics and laws. This three-hour foraging walk will include wild foods and drinks, to sample wild flavours

Let's harvest, taste, and craft with acorns! They are ripe just now and such a fantastic resource. We'll have a ninety minute foraging walk around Cammo, harvesting acorns, mushrooms, ripe berries, aromatic seeds and greens, and then play, making little acorn fairy lights and table settings while enjoying a cup of hot acorn coffee and nibbling some acorn biscuits..

Samhain Forage

Come along for a walk on beautiful Corstorphine Hill, enjoy the views, and learn which edible fungi and plants grow in Edinburgh this time of year.
This course will include a two hour walk over woodland paths, identification of around thirty species, advice on how to forage legally, ethically, and safely and how to process your finds. The course will conclude with a tasting of seasonal foraged foods and drinks.
